ZARANJ (Pajhwok): The Abresham crossing between Afghanistan and Iran in southwestern Nimroz province was reopened after one and a half hours of closure, an official said on Thursday.

Mawlavi Mohammad Asif Asif, head of Land Transportation, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Iranian border officials on Thursday at 12:30 pm closed the crossing to transit trade and pedestrians but it was reopened at 2:00 pm.

“The reason behind the closure of the gate was not ascertained but Iranian officials reopened the crossing,” he said.

He said that this afternoon the governor will hold a meeting with the border officials after which the reasons behind the closure of the crossing would be ascertained.
