6 persons illegally hunting birds arrested in Uruzgan

TIRINKOT (Pawjhok): Security forces have arrested six people for illegal hunting birds in central Uruzgan province, police said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Bilal Uruzgani told Pajhwok Afghan News that the six men were hunting birds in mountains in Shali Navi area of Khas Uruzgan district.

Police seized a gun, cartridges, traps, four partridges and cages from the arrested individuals.

The detainees would be handover to judicial organs after primary investigation, Uruzgani explained.

The Prime Minister’s Office has banned hunting and smuggling of wild birds across the country.
