KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) has launched free of cost treatment of mental and neurological illnesses in the capital Kabul, the state-run aid body said on Sunday.
On its Twitter handle, the ARCS said: “Two male and female psychiatrists and neurologists have been appointed for the free of cost treatment of mental and neurological patients above the age of five.”
Sources have asked those who have mental and neurological patients at home to take their female patients to the ARCS Clinic in Kabul Mraston for free treatment and male patients to the Department of Mental Patients Care besides the ARCS.
The ARCS Spokesperson Mudassir Hamraz said: “The mental and neurological patients who come are treated free of charge by the ARCS.”
He said the treatment of severe patients took a long time but less severe patients could be treated quickly.
Hamraz said these patients are given essential tips and if it is necessary they are also prescribed medicines.
