FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Three students of a religious seminary were injured when a leftover mortar shell went off in Poshtrod district of western Farah province, an official said on Tuesday.
Information and Culture Director Maulvi Abdul Hai Sabaoon told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place in in Gajgin area on Monday evening.
He said three children sustained injuries in the incident.
“These children had founded the shell that exploded after the children started playing with it,” Sabaoon added.
The students belong to Jama’atul Asra religious Madrasa. Head of the seminary, Maulvi Ehsanullah, also confirmed the incident. He said the injured students were in stable condition.
It should be noted that the previous government had established an army camp in this area, where now a religious seminary has been built.
