MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): A national museum has been established for the first time ever in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Tuesday.
Information and Culture Director Maulvi Habibullah Mujahid told Pajhwok Afghan News the museum named “Mujahid National Museum” was recently established by his department.
He said hundreds of historical artifacts had been collected and handed over to this museum so far.
He added: "This museum has two parts one is part is reserved for historical artifacts and the second for items captured during the US invasion.”
According to him, residents of the province are also happy with the establishment of the museum and they brought many historical artifacts to this museum from their homes.
Maidan Wardak had no museum previously and e historical artifacts of the province were kept in Kabul museum, he explained.
He asked local people to hand over relicts to the museum instead of keeping them at home.
