KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir has emphasised on positive relations between Afghanistan and Turkey, saying assistance from Ankara is essential for the Afghan people.
He made the remarks at a meeting with representatives from charitable Turkish institutions here on Friday, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.
The deputy premier said an enabling environment had been created for charitable activities and investment with the restoration of security. He promised all possible cooperation in this regard.
Kabir said the Afghans were in need of humanitarian assistance and cooperation in various areas in the wake of four decades of conflict.
He hailed assistance from Turkey as important for the people of Afghanistan and underlined positive relations between the two countries.
The representative and officials of charities said they were providing services to the needy people in reconstruction, food distribution, health and other sectors.
They are currently working on the construction of mosques and seminaries in coordination with the caretaker government.
