6 people killed in Baghlan, Badakhshah, Helmand traffic accidents

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Six people have been killed and one injured in traffic accidents in three provinces, officials and a statement said on Sunday.

Four people were killed and one injured in a traffic accident in the Qarya Ahmad locality of Dushi district on Saturday, a statement from the provincial Police Headquarters said.

A corolla-type vehicle driven from Kabul to Kunduz skidded off the road and plunged into the river, the source said, adding one body was still missing in the river.

Separately, a 64-year-old man was killed in a traffic accident in the limits of Argu district in northeastern Badakhshan province, Police Spokesperson Ehsan Kamgar said.

He said the accident happened because of reckless driving.

Elsewhere a man was killed in a traffic accident in the Sangin district of southern Helmand province, Mawlavi Sher Mohammad Wahdat, deputy head of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department said.

He added the accident happened in the Paich locality of the district when a Locsal vehicle and motorcycle collided.
