PARON (Pajhwok): The highway between eastern Nuristan and Kunar provinces has reopened for traffic after heavy flash floods blocked it, an official said on Sunday.
The Kunar-Nuristan highway was closed for all kinds of traffic on Saturday due to stones and rocks rolling down the road.
Kunar Public Works Director Maulvi Mohammad Nabi Adil told Pajhwok Afghan News heavy floods shut the highway that connects Asadabad with Paron.
He said commuters this morning started travelling on the highway without any problem.
Sajid Ali, a hotel owner in Paron city, said his customers and sales decreased after the highway’s closure, but now he was happy the road had been cleared.
