KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has travelled to central Uruzgan province to extend condolences and assistance to flood-affected-families.
The State Ministry for Natural Disaster Management says at least 50 people have been killed, dozens wounded and 600 residential houses damaged in recent flash floods across the country.
Baradar promised the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) would assist the flood-hit people in all parts of the country.
The deputy premier said aid had been arranged for distribution to the affected families in Uruzgan.
Governor Inayatullah Shuja, meanwhile, pledged transparent delivery of aid to the needy flood victims.
He said the floods had caused financial losses to the people in the provincial capital and districts. A committee has been formed to survey the affected families.
