GHAZNI (Pajhwok): At least 50 people, including women and children, have been infected with severe fever in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Thursday.
Dr Abdul Hadi Amiri, head of contagious control disease at the Public Health Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that about 50 people go infected with severe fever in Bator village of Musakhel district over the past 24 hours.
He said most of the ailing individuals were women and children.
According to Amiri, the number of these patients may be higher because today’s figures have not been reported.
He said the main reason behind the viral disease was yet to be ascertained, but health teams have reached the area and have started their treatment.
Baz Mohammad, a resident of Bator area, also confirmed that a number of people had fallen due to severe fever.
He said they contacted health officials of the area who launched the treatment process.
