KABUL (Pajhwok): A three-day meeting on climate change has commenced at the Government Information and Media Center (GIMC) in Kabul in cooperation with the Norwegian Committee, the National Environment Protection Authority (NEPA) announced on Monday.

Meanwhile, GIMC in a statement said representatives from Environmental Protection Authority, the ministries of energy and water, agriculture, rural rehabilitation and development, borders and tribal affairs, the Kabul Municipality international institutions are participating in the meeting.

Dr. Zainul Abdin Abid, deputy director of NEPA, said that the main cause of climate change was greenhouse gas emissions mostly in developed countries.

He added with low impact on climate change, Afghanistan experienced extraordinary opportunities in water, agriculture, forests, energy, green lands and other areas.
