KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Food Program (WFP) says it provides six million people in Afghanistan with life-saving food and cash every month.
The UN agency wrote on its X handle: “Generous support from our donors like the US, Japan, Sweden, Canada and Scotland makes that happen.”
On Friday, the European Union (EU) signed an agreement of cooperation invilving 17 million euros with International Organization for Migration (IOM) to support Afghan returnees from Iran and Pakistan and host communities.
Earlier, the United Nations had announced it urgently needed 3.06 billion dollars for humanitarian aid in Afghanistan. But so far, it has received only six percent of the funds needed.
