BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Security forces have arrested five people for illegally hunting birds in Sheiber district of central Bamyan province, police said on Sunday.
Police spokesman Mohammad Khawani Rasa told Pajhwok Afghan News the hunters who were arrested in Sheiber district had been handed over to the Anti Crimes Department.
Police also recovered a rifle and several birds from the detainees and the birds were freed back into the wild, he added.
The government has banned hunting birds and wild animals with serious warning to violators.
