KABUL (Pajhwok): Heavy rains and floods killed at least eight people and washed away dozens of residential houses\ during the last three days in a number of provinces, an official said on Sunday.
Maulvi Mohammad Abdullah Jan, an official of the State Ministry for Natural Disasters Management, said in a video clip that eight individuals had been killed and three others injured in rain-induced incidents during last three days in Kandahar, Nuristan, Badghis, Ghor, Nangarhar, Maidan Wardak, Herat, Samangan, Panjsher, Laghman, Kunar, Baghlan, Sar-i-Pul, Kunduz and Parwan provinces.
He said about 140 residential houses, 10 acres of agriculture land were partially or completely destroyed in the period.
The natural disasters also swept away 20 kilometers of roads and killed 30 animals, he continued.
He added the officials of the ministry had been instructed to reach out to the affected people and provide them with assistance.
