LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Rain-induced flash floods have caused heavy financial losses in Nawzad district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Monday.
Governor spokesman Mohammad Qasim Riaz told Pajhwok Afghan News flash floods destroyed crops on 250 acres of lands in various areas of the district on Sunday.
Without providing the exact figures, he said many residential houses were also destroyed, solar power panels broken, animals died in the disaster.
Dozens of people have been killed and injured in the recent rain-related incidents in the country.
