KABUL (Pajhwok): Held for airing music on Eid programmes, three journalists have been released in southeastern Khost province, the Afghan Independent Journalists Union (AIJU) said on Monday.
AIJU wrote on its Facebook account, Esmail Saadat, Ehsanullah Tasal and Wahidullah Masoom worked for Naaz, Woash Ghagh and Radio Iqra radio stations had been arrested six days ago in Khost.
The union called on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) to address media-related issues through the Media Violation Monitoring and Complaints Commission at the Ministry of Information and Culture.
The caretaker government has not yet commented on the issue.
In addition to the state-run Radio Television of Afghanistan (RTA), 3 private TV channels and 15 radio stations are currently operating in the country.
