GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Using their own money, residents of Jaghori district in southern Ghazni province have launched construction work on a school building that is estimated to cost 8.5 million Afghanis.
Nasratullah, an inhabitant of the district, told Pajhwok Afghan News local residents started the construction work on the school building today on self-help basis.
He said the structure wouldl consume 8.5 million afghanis and would take six months to complete. He added: "We want all our girls to study along with our sons”.
Abbas, a student of the area, said their school had no building and they were studying under the open sky.
Education Director Nasir Ahmad Hussaini asked the residents of the other districts should also follow suit.
The school building is being constructed on 2.5 acres of land and wll have 16 classrooms, two administrative rooms, a computer lab, a library and a special ground for sports.
About 500,000 students both boys and girls are studying in this school.
