KABUL (Pajhwok): Residents living on the hills in the capital Kabul would be distributed 10,000 Judas tree saplings for plantations in their houses amid at improving environment and beautification of the capital.
The distribution process was launched today (Thursday) from the first and second Municipality District of the capital by the Kabul Municipality.
Mawlavi Abdul Wakil Mutawakil, the Greenery Department head of the Municipality, said they were committed to ensure greenery in the city besides the construction of roads and streets.
Judas tree saplings were prepared and distributed for the houses located in the hills, because the Judas tree did not consume more water and people who live in the hills also face water shortage.
He said for the first time the Kabul Municipality prepared and distributed 10,000 Judas tree saplings and gave them as gift for the residents.
He added the resident had been asked to look after the sapling. During the distribution ceremony their commitment in this regard would be sought.
Abdul Rahim Akhundzada, the representative of the second Police District hailed the municipality initiative. He said over 2,000 Judas saplings distributed to the resident of 2nd municipality district.
