Yaqub stresses greater cooperation with Azerbaijan

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Defence Maulvi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid has underlined the need for enhanced cooperation with Azerbaijani in various sectors.

In a post on X, the MoD wrote that Mullah Yaqub Mujahid met Elham Mahammadov, the ambassador of Azerbaijan in Kabul.

Mujahid was quoted as saying: “Friendship and commonalities between the two friendly Muslim countries are a proud phase.

“The reopening of the Azerbaijan embassy in Kabul was a positive step and we want to further cement long-standing bilateral ties in economic, commercial and other sectors.”

Elham Mohammadov said his country was ready to expand cooperation with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the people of this country.
