Clinic being built for returnees near Gardez

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): The foundation stone of a clinic has been laid in a refugee township near Gardez, the capital of southeastern Paktia province, the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees Affairs said on Friday.

The ministry wrote on its X page that the clinic in Rabat area was being constructed at a cost of 375,000 US dollars.

Acting minister Khalil Rahman Haqqani laid the foundation stone for the construction of the clinic yesterday.

Addressing a ceremony, Haqqani said local people and returning refugee families would be provided with health services.

He said the returning families had been facing many problems in the absence of a clinic and he asked the people to support and protect public welfare projects.

Haqqani also called on all Afghans living abroad to return to their homeland and play their part in the country’s rebuilding and prosperity.
