FARAH CITY/PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A man has been killed by flash a flood in western Farah province while a child has been killed in central Logar province after he fell into the river, officials said on Saturday.
Mohammad Israel, the Disaster Management Department director, said a man was killed by a flash flood in the Anardara district on Friday.
He added 142 acres of agricultural land, 20 houses and 34 Karezes have been destroyed while 100 solar penal had been broken by the flash flood.
He said the representatives of relevant authorities have visited the flood-affected areas.
Hundreds of affected persons had been shifted to safe places and emergency assistance had been provided.
Separately, a 12-year-old boy was killed after he fell into water, security forces recovered the body of this child.
The deceased child is Abdul Rahman, hailed from the Baraki Barak district who came to Hisarak district as a guest.
It is pertinent to mention that last week the body of a 13-year-old boy recovered from the Logar River.
