GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Spending their own money, residents of Jaghori district in southern Ghazni province have started constructing a new building for the local school.
Ali, a resident of Haidar area where the school building is being constructed, told Pajhwok Afghan News there was a dire need for the school building.
He said the building would cost about five million afghanis and take six months to complete.
Ali said local residents had decided to cooperate with the government in improving the education affairs in the province.
Ghazni education director Nasir Ahmad Hussaini thanked the residents of Jaghori district and said the school building was aging and now a new building for the school was being constructed by residents.
He asked residents of other areas to imitate the people of Haidar area.
Hussaini said the school building in Haidar area t on one acre of land will have 12 classrooms and one administrative room.
He said five million afghanis will be spent on the school building where 400 students studied.
A week ago, the residents of Aliato Shaghla area in Jaghori district launched construction of a school building in their area.
