KABUL (Pakhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has called Israel’s bombing in Rafah city of Gaza as war crime and genocide and asked the world, especially Islamic countries, to stop this disaster.

An Israeli tank brigade took control of the Gaza side of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, and started operations in eastern part of this city on Tuesday, according to a media report.

Israeli forces started attacks in Rafah city after Hamas accepted the proposed cease-fire in Gaza and Rafah border with Egypt was halted. The aid delivering to Gaza had been stopped.

Zabihullah Mujahid, IEA chief spokesman, called the Israeli bombardment as barbaric and strongly condemned it.

He wrote: “Rafah is the last city in the south of Gaza. 1.4 million Palestinian from the north of Gaza, central Gaza and Khan Younis have been displaced to this city during the last six months of wars. Now once again the invading forces of the Zionist regime are targeting innocent Palestinian Muslims.”

He said the caretaker government of Afghanistan called this act as a war crime and asked the world, especially the Islamic countries, to prevent this disaster and try to deliver food, medicines and humanitarian aid to Gaza.

He added: “Unfortunately, regional and global powers have not been able to prevent the genocide of Palestinians by the Zionist regime in Gaza so far, and the absence of effective measures in this regard allowed the Zionist regime to reject cease-fire proposal of Hamas again and continue its barbaric bombardment and land occupation on oppressed Muslims of Gaza.”

BBC quoted health officials in Gaza as saying: “At least 54 Palestinian were killed and 100 others injured in Israeli attacks on Tuesday.”
