FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Security forces destroyed poppy crop on 54.5 acres of land and seized 2,400kg of drugs in western Farah province, police said on Saturday.
In a statement, the police headquarters in Farah said about 54.5 acres of land was cleared of poppy by security forces during operations in Dokhari and Washina areas of Parchaman district.
They also seized about 2,300kg of oman and destroyed it in the district.
Separately, police set alight 100kg of different drugs in Bakwa district, the statement said.
So far the banned crop has been destroyed on hundreds of acres of land in the country.
