MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): UNDP will equip about 2,000 schools and a number of clinics in Afghanistan that lack electricity with solar power until 2028.
In a statement, the Media Center in northern Balkh province said deputy governor, education, public health and economy directors met with UNDP area manager Wahib Al Riyani and discussed with him some issues in the province.
Wahib Al Riyani said UNDP had implemented about 100 projects in health, drinking water, agriculture, education, employment and canal construction fields in the north.
He said UNDP will equip 2,000 schools and some clinics with solar power by 2028.
Deputy Governor Noor Al Hadi Abu Edress was happy over the implementation of the projects and recommended officials to help UNDP in conducting detailed surveys.
