NEILLI (Pajhwok): The construction of Darya-e-Helmand Intermediate School building has been completed in the Miramour district of central Daikundi province, an official said on Monday.
Daikundi Education Director Qari Enayatullah Sahaar said 1.5 million afs for the construction of the school building provided by local residents.
Haji Mohammad Fahimi, one of the residents, said the school building was constructed at the personal cost of local residents and technical and financial support of Green Cooperation Orgnaisation.
He said the building comprised of eight classrooms, its construction was started last year.
According to the Education Department total of 431 schools existed in Dakundi of which 170 were without buildings.
Around 133,000 students --- 71,000 boys and 61,000 girls --- are enrolled in Daikanudi schools.
