15 Afghans freed from Pakistani jail return home

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Fifteen undocumented Afghans have returned to the country from Pakistan after being released from jail.

They were handed over to Afghan authorities in eastern Nangarhhaqr province at Torkham crossing, Nangarhar Refugees and Repatriation director told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Baz Mohammad Abdul Rahman said the returning individuals hailing from different parts of Nangarhar had spent nine days to 18 months in Pakistani jails for lacking legal stay documents.

He said these individuals would be introduced to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UNHCR to receive necessary assistance and reunite with their families.
