KABUL (Pajhwok): Russian and Indian diplomats have held bilateral consultations on the current situation in Afghanistan.
Russia’s Special Presidential Envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov and India’s Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs JP Singh met in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi said they conferred on the need for development assistance to support the welfare of the Afghan population.
“Kabulov … held inter-MFA consultations on Afghanistan with JP Singh,” wrote The Russian Embassy on X. The two sides underlined the importance of development aid for Afghanistan.
Also on Wednesday, China’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan Yue Xiaoyong met his Uzbek counterpart Ismatilla Irgashev. They agreed to step up collaboration for peace and reconstruction in Afghanistan.
Delhi and Moscow have a shared commitment to supporting the Afghan people’s prosperity and promoting stability in the region, Indian media reported.
