13 killed as flash floods sweep through Ghor

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): At least 13 people have been killed and dozens of residential houses destroyed as a result of heavy flooding in western Ghor province, an official said on Saturday.

Abdul Wahid Hamas, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the flash floods hit parts of Ferozkoh and a number of districts on Friday.

He said 13 people lost their lives in the disaster.

The death toll could mount, feared the official, who concluded the floods also caused financial losses to the people.
