MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Heavy flash floods killed one person and destroyed crops in Charkint district of northern Balkh province, police said on Saturday.
In a statement, the police headquarters said one person died and agriculture lands inundated by heavy floods in Pari Barat village last night.
Without giving details, he said the floods also caused financial and life losses in other districts of the province.
Residents asked the government to assist the victims.
Meanwhile, 209 Al-Fateh Corps and police in a joint statement said they worked day and night to deal with any emergency situation.
It said police and security forces arrived in the area to save lives and help the surivors.
In the past two weeks, floods occurred in north and northeastern provinces of the country following heavy rains.
