Humanitarian aid from Uzbekistan arrived in Mazar-i-Sharif

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): More than 200 tons of Uzbekistan’s humanitarian aid for flood-effected people has arrived in northern Balkh province on Tuesday.

The food and non-food aid from Uzbekistan arrived by 12 truck through Hairatan port. The assistance included flour, cooking oil, fuel, shelter and other things for flood victims.

Ismatullah Ekeirgashov, a special representative of Uzbekistan during handing over assistance, emphasized the bilateral relations and asked Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) to distribute the aid as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, IEA officials appreciated the Uzbekistan’s humanitarian aid.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Rahmatullah Haq Fazeel, said Uzbek aid will be distributed soon.

Since IEA takeover, this is the tenth Uzbek’s humanitarian aids were arrived to the country.
