1 doctor shot dead, another injured in Mazar-i-Sharif

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead a doctor and injured his brother in Mazar-i-Sharif City, the capital of northern Balkh province.

In a statement, the police headquarters said the armed men opened fire at the two brothers, both doctors, on their way home in the 4^th police district on Tuesday.

It said the gunfire resulted in killing one doctor and injuring another.

According to the statement, the initial information suggests the motive behind the incident was a personal rift and a suspect has been detained.
