KABUL (Pajhwok): The Kankor Examination — university entry test — would be conducted in five phases this year in which 150,000 contenders would take part, an official said on Thursday.
Shaikh Abdul Baqi Haqqani, the acting head of the National Examination Authority (NEA) told reports here the first phase of the Kankor examination would take place on June 6th, 7th and 8th, the second phase would take place on June 21st and 22nd, third phase on June 27th and 28th, fourth phase on July 4th, 5th and 6th and the last and fifth phase of the examination would take place on July 12th.
Prof. Yama Aman, the technical advisor of the NEA, said Maidan Wardak, Logar, Kapesa, Panjsher, Ghazni, Paktia, Patkika, Kunar, Zabul, Bamyan, Samangan, Badghis, Herat, Ghor and Nuristan provinces were included in the first phase of the Kankor examination.
The third phase will take place in Kabul, the third phase in Takhar, Kunduz, Balkh, Jawzjan, Sar-i-Pul, Faryab, Uruzgan, Baghlan, Daikundi and Badakhshan.
Laghman, Nangarhar, Khost, Kandahar, Helmand, Farah and Nimroz provinces were included in the fourth phase while the fifth phase belonged to Mutafariqa students.
He said the Kankor entry cards were distributed to 150,000 students nationwide and this year 56,900 contenders would be enrolled at state-run universities, 10,450 contenders would be enrolled in the night shift, 3,900 contenders to religious schools while 4,500 contenders would be attracted through special examination.
He said the result of this year’s Kankor examination would be announced on July 22.
