BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Teams from Daikundi finished winner and runner-up in the Futsal tournament played between 20 teams from three provinces in central Bamyan province, an official said on Saturday.
Sayed Kafeel Mosavi, head of the Physical Training and Sports Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News this tournament titled Jam-i-Bahar, was played between 20 teams from three provinces.
According to him, about 240 athletes from Kabul, Daikundi and Bamyan provinces took part in this competition, and after 20 days, Dai Canada and Hazarestan teams from Daikundi province became champions and runners-up respectively.
He added that Ezzatullah Radmanesh from Hazarstan team was recognized as the best player, Farhad Zafari from Mr. Gol and Ali Khavari from Dai Canada team were recognized as the best goalkeeper of this tournament.
Ali Danesh, one of the athletes of this tournament, complained about the lack of facilities and the inattention of the officials and added that holding the tournaments provided an opportunity to encourage young people to play sports and to identify top figures, but the officials and relevant institutions should try to provide the facilities needed by the athletes and the young people.
He said players have no facilities and there was no Futsal ground in all districts.
