Newborn baby kidnapped from hospital recovered

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A newborn baby kidnapped from a hospital in the Charkh district of central Logar province has been recovered, an official said on Monday.

Police Spokesman Ahmadullah Anas told Pajhwok Afghan News that the newborn baby was kidnapped on Sunday from a hospital in the Charkh district.

The security personnel recovered the baby after two hours of search from a house in Pingram village of the district.

A number of the hospital workers and other suspects were investigated, and the main kidnapper would be arrested soon, Anas explained.

Mohammad Saleem, a resident of the district asked security forces to seriously investigate the incident and punish those who kidnapped the baby from the hospital.

Majority women in the country were illiterate, and if the health workers commit negligence in their responsibilities, more similar incidents can occur, he said.
