ASADABAD (Pajhwok): For the first time ever, doctors at the provincial hospital in Asadabad, the capital of eastern Kunar province, now perform kidney, trachea and bladder surgeries, the Public Health Department said on Tuesday.
Officials at the provincial hospital also confirmed that kidney, trachea and bladder surgeries were now performed in the hospital for the first time.
Dr. Muladad Sapi, director of the hospital, told a ceremony in this regard: “Fortunately, kidney, trachea and bladder operations have started in this hospital based on the needs and demands of people.”
He said they would send patients to neighboring Nangarhar hospital earlier, but now facilities were available at the provincial hospital.
Public Health Director Qari Muzaffar Mukhlis said: “Our efforts are underway to strengthen health services in the province.”
Meanwhile, the new thrilled residents of the province and they sought more from the government to improve the health sector.
