BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): The Bamyan-Baghlan highway has been reopened for traffic after two weeks of closure due to heavy flash floods, an official said on Saturday.
Public Works Director Eng. Hafizullah Nemati told Pajhwok Afghan News heavy flash floods blocked the Bamyan-Baghlan highway for traffic in the past two weeks.
He said the route in the Baghak area of Sheibar district was destroyed and the personnel of the department had reconstructed and reopened the route for traffic.
This highway connected northern provinces with the centre and dozens of vehicles and cargo trucks traveled daily.
