Gang involved in Guzra mosque attack busted

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Security forces have arrested the gang that attacked worshipers in the Guzra district of western Herat province, an official claimed on Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said at least six people had been killed and one wounded the gun attack on worshippers in Guzra district.

Deputy Governor Maulvi Hayatullah Mohajir Farahi wrote on X: “The gang, involved in the mosque attack has been arrested by security forces.”

He said the security forces also seized an explosive vest, a car and several weapons from the detainees. Farahi did not provide further details about the group.

On the other hand, the governor’s spokesman Nisar Ahmad Ilyas said in a video clip the group had carried out several attacks on Shiites in the province.
