KABUL (Pajhwok): A visiting Indonesian delegation has pledged to portray the real situation of Afghanistan to the Indonesian government and the international community.

They held out the promise at a meeting with Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy PM office said in a statement.

The delegation included Muhammad Yusuf Kalla, chairman of the Indonesian Red Crescent Society and Mosque Council, Hamid Awaludin, ex-minister of law and human rights and Sudirman Said, former minister of energy.

The two sides discussed enhancing political, economic commercial  and bilateral ties between Kabul and Jakarta.

The deputy premier called ties between the two nations historic and emphasized on further strengthening these relations.

He pointed out that comprehensive security in Afghanistan paved the way for significant investment opportunities in energy, mining, dams, infrastructure and industry sectors.

He added the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) had provided all possible facilities to industrialists in the country.

For his part, Mohammad Yusuf Kalla promised they would reflect the real situation of Afghanistan to the Indonesian government and the international community.

He said his country desired to expand relations with the caretaker government in various sectors.

He added Indonesian investors were interested to invest in Afghanistan’s mining sector.

He also announced an economic delegation from his country would visit Kabul in near future to discuss economic cooperation with IEA officials.
