KABUL (Pajhwok): The operations of Tamadun TV, Khatam-Al-Nabeien seminary and Khatam-ul-Nabeien University would be closed due to affiliation to a banned political party, and the construction of infrastructure on usurped land, a statement said on Saturday.
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) statement said that these institutions belonged to the Harakat-i-Islami Political party. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) already announced a ban on political parties and political activities in Afghanistan.
But Tamadun TV Chief and General Director of the Khatam-ul-Nabeien University, Mohammad Jawad Muhsini said that the building for the TV was built on land purchased for it on legal ownership documents, neither the seminary nor the TV belonged to any political party.
He called for an impartial investigation of this issue by a committee.
Tamadun TV published the news (on Thursday) that the officials of the MoJ entered the office of the media to stop its operations.
But the TV later reported that this decision was delayed until Saturday with the intervention of officials of the government.
MoJ Spokesman Barakatullah Rasoli wrote in a press statement on his X that the operation of Tamadon TV would be stopped because of its affiliation to a political party and that its infrastructure was built on grabbed state land.
The press statement explained that all types of operations of political parties were announced banned in the country so such media affiliated to banned parties had no right to operate.
The press statement said: “The Tamadon TV, Khatam-Al-nabeien seminary and Khatam-al-nabeien University belongs to banned ‘Harakat-i-Islami Afghanistan’ party and their buildings were also built on usurped state land so the operations of all the three firms would be closed by the MoJ.”
So a delegation of the MoJ visited the office of Tamadun TV to inform its officials about closure of its operation.
The MoJ recalled that the activities of political parties were prohibited in the country, the violators would be dealt according to Sharia law.
But Mohammad Jawad Muhsini, the general director of Tamadun TV said that the land of the TV was purchased from the person and it had its ownership documents and the land was not in any mean a state land.
He further added that the land of Khatam-ul-Nabiein seminary was officially handed over to Ayatullah Mohammad Asif Muhsini during the time of previous government, the founder of the seminary with legal ownership documents for the establishment of a seminary, library, research centre, students’ dormitory and a conference hall, Jawad Muhsini explained.
He further explained that Khatam-al-Nabiein University did not have a building of its own, but operated in a rented building.
Ha added, that the founder of these institutions Mohammad Asif Muhsini resigned permanently from all kinds of political activities in Harakat-i-Islami Afghanistan party (in 2005) but continued to serve the people of this country and they had official documents about it. According to Jawad, all of these firms such as the TV, university and seminary were established after the resignation of Mohammad Asif Muhsini from political party.
Jawad further called on the officials of the IEA especially of the official of the MoJ to review the documents of the firms impartially and make necessary decisions in the light of documents.
