CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): A six-year-old enmity between two families has been resolved in central Parwan province.
It was also decided that one side will pay one million afghanis and the other 300,000 afghanis as blood money.
Fazl-ur-Rahman Wahdatyar, executive director of borders and tribal affairs department, said the feud between the families of Mohammad Arif and Ahmad Gul, residents of Qolhir village of Shinwari district, surfaced six years ago.
According to him, as a result of the enmity, Mohammad Arif was killed by the sons of Ahmad Gul.
He said as a result of efforts by religious scholars, tribal elders and officials, the enmity was ended in Charikar City via a reconciliation gathering between the two families.
“It was decided that Ahmad Gul family will pay one million afghanis against Mohammad Arif’s death and the family of Arif will pay 300,000 to Gul for the damages.”
He pointed out that both sides had accepted the decision and hugged each other.
Abdul Jamil, brother of Mohammad Arif, said: "We accepted this decision, whatever our elders and scholars decide is acceptable, I feel happy that we got rid of the enmity."
Last week, a dispute over ten acres of land between two brothers was resolved after 12 years.
Since the re-establishment of the IEA, 31 feuds have so far been resolved in the province.
