7 Pakistani soldiers killed in KP bomb attack

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Seven Pakistani soldiers have been killed in a bomb attack on their vehicle in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The improvised explosive device (IED) assault occurred in Lakki Marwat district on Sunday, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The fatalities included an army officer, identified as Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas (26). The military vowed to bring “the perpetrators of this heinous act” to justice.

A statement from ISPR said Pakistani security forces were determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices further strengthened the soldiers’ resolve.

On May 26, two soldiers, including a captain of the Pakistan Army, had been killed during an intelligence-based operation in Peshawar.
