KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has announced Uzbekistan’s grant of 50 bachelor’s scholarships for Afghan students.
In a post on X, MoHE wrote Higher Education Minister Dr. Latfullah Khairkhwa met Uzbekistan’s ambassador at his office in Kabul.
During the meeting, Khairkhwa and the Uzbek envoy discussed the problems of Afghan students in the neighbouring country, scholarships and bilateral academic ties.
Khairkhwa commended Uzbekistan’s cooperation in the field of education and emphasised on mutual scientific and academic links. He referred to religious, linguistic and cultural commonalities between the two nations.
Ambassador Khwaja Shadmanov said 43 Afghan students were currently pursing education in Uzbekistan.
He offered 50 undergraduate scholarships to Afghanistan in various faculties this year and reaffirmed bilateral cooperation in the area of education with Afghanistan.
