KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan desires enhanced cooperation with Russia in promoting quality education, says a media report.
Acting Minister of Higher Education Neda Mohammad Nadeem voiced Afghanistan’s desire at an international forum in Kazan.
Speaking at the event, "Shaping the Future", he commended Russia’s efforts to improve the quality of education in Afghanistan.
"First of all, let me thank the organisers of this important conference and Russian Minister of Education [Sergey Kravtsov] for their efforts to improve the quality of education," he was quoted as saying by TASS.
Nadeem added: "We are ready to cooperate with the entire world, Russia and friendly countries in the education field. We in Afghanistan have (made) achievements in this area."
He acknowledged decades of conflict in Afghanistan had badly hit the country's education system, whose restoration needed global support.
In this regard, the minister added, Kabul proposed to establish interaction between Afghan and foreign universities.
