KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs Maulvi Noor Mohammad Saqib has attended the 48th Grand Hajj Symposium in Saudi Arabia, an official announced on Tuesday.

Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), wrote on his X handle Saqib took part in the symposium in Makkah on Monday following an invitation from the Saudi government.

He said in addition to hajj ministers well-known personalities had been invited to the event from various Islamic countries.

The event, titled “No Hajj Without Permission”, marked the 48th Grand Hajj Symposium arranged by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and drew ministers.

Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfig Al-Rabiah opened the symposium with a speech outlining its objectives and the steps taken by the kingdom to ensure a smooth and safe Hajj operation.

The symposium served as a basic platform for intellectual leadership and knowledge exchange, aimed at deepening the understanding and appreciation of the spiritual, cultural, and social dimensions of the Hajj ritual.

The event emphasised on the cultural and civilisational roles undertaken by Saudi Arabia in serving pilgrims and reinforcing peaceful intellectual dialogue on matters related to the Hajj season.

It also sought to establish unified principles of collective action for the Islamic world in addressing doubts concerning faiths, nations and cultures.
