Bid to smuggle 4,000 cattle to Iran foiled in Nimroz

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Border police have prevented more than 4,000 cattle from being smuggled to Iran in northwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Thursday.

Police chief Mullah Mohammad Dawood Ishaq told Pajhwok Afghan News personnel from the fifth border post prevented the smuggling bid and arrested two persons. He said border police personnel were always trying to prevent the smuggling of any items to other countries.

Meanwhile, Information and Culture Director Alhaj Mufti Habibullah Elham said: “The IEA is serious about preventing smuggling and smugglers should stop their illegal activities”.

On the other hand, livestock sellers and residents of Zaranj city expressed satisfaction over the border police action against the cattle smugglers.
