PARAKH (Pajhwok): A 160KVA transformer has been installed in central Panjshir province, electrifying 200 homes, an official said on Tuesday.
Provincial information and culture director Nasratullah Malikzada told Pajhwok Afghan News that Da Afghanistan Bareshna Shirkat (DABS) installed the transformer worth one million afghanis in Badqol village of Panjshir province.
The 160 kilovolt-ampere (KVA) transformer could provide electricity to 200 families.
According to Malikzada, the transformer solved lack of electricity issue of Badqol village residents.
However, DABS officials in Panjshir confirmed to Pajhwok that only 67 percent residents of the province had access to sub-standard seasonal electrical power produced locally.
