QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): Two people have drowned while swimming in western Badghis province, police said on Saturday.
In a statement, the police headquarters said a 17 years old boy from the Deh Surkhak village drowned while swimming in a canal in the provincial capital.
The victim originally hailed from the Bizbai area of Qadis district.
In a separate incident, another person drowned in the Sakharyan area of Bala Murghab district.
According to information from police, the second victim was a resident of the Qala-i-Wali area of Ghormach district.
