PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Nine alleged militants, including two commanders, have been killed in two separate military operations in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) identified the slain “terrorist commanders” as Najeeb, aka Abdul Rehman, and Ishfaq, alias Muavia.
They were eliminated along with five other militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Tirah valley of Khyber district, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Monday.
The militants were involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area and were wanted by law enforcement agencies, ISPR added. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from them.
In a separate action in Lakki Marwat district, the statement continued, troops killed two more alleged terrorists. The security forces were determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, it said.
