7 publicly flogged in Parwan, Panjsher & Badghis

KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven individuals convicted of different crimes have been flogged publicly in Parwan, Panjsher and Badghis provinces, the Supreme Court said on Tuesday.

In a statement on X, the apex court said the primary court of Parwan’s Sayed Khel district had sentenced each of the three convicts to a year in jail and 39 lashes. A fourth one was sentenced to two years imprisonment and 39 lashes.

According to another statement from the SC, the court of central Panjsher province publicly awarded a convicted thief 25 lashes.

The top court also announced two more individuals were flogged for adultery in western Badghis province. Each of the convict was awarded 15 lashes on Sunday.
